R.I.P Oreo

Oreo died a few days ago, and I've been really sad. She was a good pet and I miss her very much. Unless I get another pet, I won't be writing on here any more. :(

R.I.P LIZZIE

Sorry I haven't been writing in a while.... I've just been kinda busy. As the title of this post says, my beloved gerbil died. :( She died July 19, 2009 at about 7:00 at night. I cried my eyes out for the longest time, but after about 2 days I got over it. I'm still really sad, but I try not to think about it much.

Now for the happy part. Oreo is as bouncy and mischevious as ever. She is doing great and doesn't seem one bit lonely, which I thoought would be a problem. She is healthy and just as cute as ever. I've been using duct tape on her cage ALOT, so she has only escaped once.

Oreo

Hi! About a month ago my gerbil, Oreo, lost the tip of her tail. We think it got stuck between the wheel and the cage. Now just about two nights ago, she chewed a huge hole in her cage and got out while I was sleeping. She woke me up by crawling on my face. It was pretty funny. She is such a trouble maker! I love her so much!

Whiskers Survived!

Whiskers is alive! Whiskers survived her surgery, and is now out of the ratty hospital.
My friend sent me an e-mail about it. Here it is:
I would like to let you all know that Whiskers survived the surgery, and she is back home with us. :) However, we got some bad news, too.Instead of just a tumor that would be relatively easy to take out, there was also a line of cysts (look it up). The Doctor took out asmany cysts as possible, but some of them were too dangerous to get.We don't know whether the cysts are cancerous or not. We decided toget a pathology report, too, which is good. Sadly, she has to wear acone on her head to keep her from chewing on her stitches. She hatesit because she can't groom herself and she can't reach food with herpaws. :( :( Right now, I'm sitting with her and she is VERY tired. We have to give her 2 medications for the next 10 days: a painkillerand an antibiotic.Luckily, she will be back, rambunctious and sniffy in about 2-3 weeks.Until then, we are letting her rest as much as .Please pray that the cysts are not cancerous, and that Whiskers willnot get sick, because we all love her. :( :(

Sorry everybody, I've been talking about Whiskers a lot lately, but it's just so important that Whiskers is cared for. I just got an e-mail from my friend who owns Whiskers (I'm not going to say her name because she might not want me to) and she said that a kind friend of her Dad's gave them $300 for the surgery! YAY!!! So everybody be happy and hope for the best!!!
