My black and white gerbil, Oreo, is an escape artist. She is always finding new ways to get out of the cage, even without the help of my cat, and my tan gerbil, Lizzie, follows along. Just a few weeks ago, they got a hold of an edge in the cage, and within an hour they had chewed a hole big enough to crawl through. It took me a long time to catch them both.

I love your gerbils! They are so cute, and always seem to be in the mood to play. How did you convince Oreo to wear the hat?
It was actually really hard. She was squirming the whole time, and she kept knocking it off. Mom had to take really quick pictures.
