Whiskers is alive! Whiskers survived her surgery, and is now out of the ratty hospital.
My friend sent me an e-mail about it. Here it is:
I would like to let you all know that Whiskers survived the surgery, and she is back home with us. :) However, we got some bad news, too.Instead of just a tumor that would be relatively easy to take out, there was also a line of cysts (look it up). The Doctor took out asmany cysts as possible, but some of them were too dangerous to get.We don't know whether the cysts are cancerous or not. We decided toget a pathology report, too, which is good. Sadly, she has to wear acone on her head to keep her from chewing on her stitches. She hatesit because she can't groom herself and she can't reach food with herpaws. :( :( Right now, I'm sitting with her and she is VERY tired. We have to give her 2 medications for the next 10 days: a painkillerand an antibiotic.Luckily, she will be back, rambunctious and sniffy in about 2-3 weeks.Until then, we are letting her rest as much as .Please pray that the cysts are not cancerous, and that Whiskers willnot get sick, because we all love her. :( :(

I know how you feel, my gelding was just lame for a week. I also have removed abscesses from Guinea Pigs as I and my mother breed them.
